Amy Necci - she/her
Teacher, Student, Seeker of Balance sharing along the way
Hi, I’m Amy! Like you, I am both a teacher and a student every single day. I am grateful to teach a variety of subjects, including yoga, mindfulness, essential oils, and Spanish. I have been practicing using all of these empowering tools for many years.
I’m a constant seeker of balance in my own life and enjoy nothing more than weaving all of these passions together and sharing them via classes, workshops, writing, and more to serve others as they bring balance to their lives, too.
I also love infusing these gifts into my work as a public school educator. I am a strong believer that I teach not only Spanish – I teach young human beings. Kids are ultimately trying to figure out this crazy thing we call life, too, and that involves so much more than learning about the content area I teach.
I began my Spanish teaching career in 2001 in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, teaching high school for 7 years. I started my yoga journey when a friend and fellow teacher invited me to take Kripalu yoga classes after school with a group of colleagues. Since my move to Carlisle, PA in 2007 to teach Spanish at the middle school level, I have felt a strong connection to this town and the surrounding communities.
Here I found a yoga community that changed my life, as it helped me to deepen my practice both on and off the mat, connected me to some truly amazing people, and ultimately led me to the yoga teacher training program that was a perfect fit for me. I am grateful for all of my teachers along the way who inspire me to continue to dive into this practice and study. I feel strongly that yoga and mindfulness can benefit anyone and that these skills are especially important to teach to today’s youth.
Incorporating these practices, alongside using essential oils and other natural solutions to take care of myself each day has brought me such joy and gratitude and contributes to me living a bountiful and balanced life…most days, and it takes work!
In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree in Education, I have extensive training in the areas of teaching mindfulness and yoga to all ages. I am especially passionate about serving youth and educators. As I continue to do my own learning (always a student first!), I also share this work with others as a teacher trainer with Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts, where I received my certifications. I co-created and co-direct the Making Yoga Philosophy Accessible to Kids module in our 95 hour Children’s Yoga Teacher certification program. For our 300 hour certification program I lead Deepening the Asana Experience: Gentle Yoga and Ethics & Creating Inclusive Spaces. I’m training to lead Cultivating Intuitive Presence & Boundaries.
I love learning and regularly seek out training in a variety of areas, continually in a process of self-study and personal growth. I am committed to cultivating brave, supportive, and inclusive spaces of acceptance that offer everyone permission to be themselves, trust themselves, and grow at their own pace.
